In 2024, UTSOC reported on the "Proclamation Havoc" that occurred in the City of Redmond, OR.
It appears that the issues surrounding the Patriot Month Proclamation had a substantial effect on the council, and led to the Mayor and Councilors disscussing the termination of all future proclamations. They cite in their City Council Workshop on May 19, 2025 that the "Patriot Month" proclamation of 2024 was written to create division in the community. The Council discusses ending the process all together.
One of the councilors states in this meeting, "So, I mean, we had the issue last year with the Constitution, the proclamation in support of the Constitution- (shannon) The Patriot Month - Yeah, and the language that was used was designed to put us at odds, and I just don't want to be there."
This is the submitted, and after a long battle, approved and presented Patriot Month Proclamation. People can use their own judgement whether this proclamation is written to create division in the Community.

There was one citizen at the May 27th, 2025 meeting that spoke out against the termination of proclamations at the Redmond City Council meetings, and he urged the council to resume the proclamation agenda.
We reached out to a few of the citizens involved in the proclamation processes for comment. We will post an update as we get those in.

I don't think the Proclamation is divisive at all. I would love to see that proclaimed again. It brings people together.
WOW they were saying some really nasty sh*%t about that Patriot Month Proclamation. Did they forget that the divisiveness was Fitch deceptively changing the proc before presenting it at the meeting, then lying about it?
Well I guess there is a positive, we don't have to listen to our City Council and Mayor Proclaim Pride Month!!! I mean, that is fantastic!
WOW, they think that proclamation is divisive? It's very nice! I love it!!
